Description     :  Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) lead architect in a

large-scale migration project, targeted at moving the out-

sourced IT infrastructure and applications of the client's

complete investment process from the client's previous IT

service provider to FIDUCIA.

  Analysis of the overall EAI system architecture and complex

communication relationships with the client's set of managed

services (application clusters) which implement the client's

complete investment process. In-depth analysis of the system's

components performance properties and interdependencies with

regard to different hardware architectures (design properties

of CPU/cores, cache, bus, memory, etc. in SPARC vs. x86 archi-

tecture) and software architecture (OS threading implementa-

tion, Java performance acceleration & JVM tuning, event

processing, queuing, channel architecture, etc. in Java EE

middleware components).

 Draft alternative solution architectures as proposals for an

architectural re-design to meet and possibly exceed the

client's requirements for significant improvement in system

performance, with particular regard to single-thread per-

for split sites operation during the various phases of

migration of the client's various managed services. Analyze

the system's communication relationships with regard to basic

network infrastructure (IP network) in order to prepare for

the setup of appropriate firewall rules, define performance

and bandwidth requirements, WAN & VLAN interconnection, and

routing strategy in cooperation with the network infra-

structure provider (VR Netze) and telco carriers (Deutsche

Telekom, Colt Telecom).

 Working closely with the client's application and system

specialists in order to deliver a complete analysis prepare

and support a smooth migration of the EAI system, its services,

communication interfaces, and communication relationships,

and guarantee continuous operation during the phase of split

sites operation between service providers and eventual seam-

less switch-over to single site operation.

 Resource planning for the entire projected development

and product life cycle, including design & implementation

of a proof-of-concept study, software reference platform,

Description     : Analyzing, reviewing, testing, and revamping Commissum's

clients' business processes and procedures with regard to the

IT organizations' business continuity & disaster recovery

planning, in order to meet the targets for compliance with

the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act, Sec. 404, in 2004 and 2005.

 Taking part in, accompanying, and counseling the clients'

emergency response & disaster awareness training; analyzing

the clients' existing BCP & DR processes; developing and

implementing a test programme to perform rigid SOX compliance

testing for the clients' identified systems, applications,

and services, including tabletop disaster simulation testing,

along with hands-on recovery sessions of selected systems and

applications; identifying any gaps and exceptions with regard

to SOX; identifying and assessing possible risks not being

addressed by the existing BCP/DR processes; identifying

capacity-planning related gaps; recommending changes in

processes to ensure compliance with the SOX DR requirements;

giving recommendations for future planning, testing, and

maintenance, including architectural changes to address

storage issues and improve IT infrastructure failover

capabilities.

 Working closely with the clients' IT staff and emergency

response forces in Europe, USA, and other globally distri-

buted locations. Authoring proof of concept whitepapers for

the clients' IT organizations, and delivering management

reports to the clients' HQ executives.
