    • For each of these tranches a date was commited to have all IP4 addresses remediated in order to prevent issues once the buyer started using them
    • In scope were all external connections using one or more of the sold IP4 addresses with a variety of external partners, so called Third Party Network Connections (TPNCs)

     

    My contributions:

    - As a project manager my main task was the coordination of the investigation, planning and implementation of the needed changes between internal and external parties, more than 100 in total

    - Next to that the usual project managment activities like issue and risk management, communication to stakeholders, escalation etc. were taken care of by me

    The remote compute stream was partly running in parallel with the stream mentioned above. Given the fact that there

    was still a significant amount of unused legacy in this area it was decided that first a clean up had to be executed.

    Simultaneously testing and piloting of the roll out process was started.

     

    My contributions:

    • Being the project manager for this stream I cooridnated and followed up on the legacy clean up activities with the
    • various teams involved. My second main task was the management of the globa team that was responsible for testing
    • and piloting the roll out process.

    • The first step was to prepare a business case and to get this approved by the relevant forums. After approval was granted
    • the ordering and implementation of a new Linux based infrastructure has been completed. Before the going live I
    • managed the UAT acceptance with the various globally distributed user communities.

    My contributions:

    • Business case preparation and driving it through the various committees for approval. Coordinate the detailed design of
    • the infrastructure architecture keeping the different international regulations in mind and the delivery of it. Management
    • of the deployment of NetBackup 7.0 which led to completion of the project in time and within budget.

    UBS was working on a project to upgrade the Websphere monitoring tool CA Wily including a move from SPARC

    based infrastructure to Solx86 Windows. Around 13.000 Websphere instances were in scope.

     

    My contributions:

    • The project got stuck in a lot of politics around the engineering of the solution and I was asked to start a task force to resolve these issues. 
    • This led to a standard build of the solution and an agreement on the underlying infrastructure architecture.
    • The further deployment was done through the various operational teams as part of BAU.

    ?NetBackup 7.0 pilot?

    UBS Wealth Managment Europe had to remediate an operational risk item due to the fact that they had back up

    situations in their 40 offices that were not compliant. NetbackUp 7.0 was chosen as the solution to deliver daily

    backups on disk and monthly ones on tape in one or two centralized locations for all offices. This pilot project was set

    up to proof that the product was fit for purpose. The scope of the pilot were the 5 offices in Italy.

     

    My contributions:

    • Managing the set up the infrastructure consisting of an Unix master cluster and Windows media servers
    • including the needed NAS and SAN storage. At the start of the operaional part of the pilot it turned out that
    • the product still had quite some child diseases to overcome and a task force together with the vendor
    • Symantec was set up to resolve the issues encountered. Eventually the pilot got completed successfully

      UBS was working on a project to upgrade the Websphere monitoring tool CA Wily including a move from SPARC

      based infrastructure to Solx86 Windows. Around 13.000 Websphere instances were in scope.

       

      My contributions:

      • The project got stuck in a lot of politics around the engineering of the solution and I was asked to start a task force to resolve these issues. 
      • This led to a standard build of the solution and an agreement on the underlying infrastructure architecture.
      • The further deployment was done through the various operational teams as part of BAU.

      ?NetBackup 7.0 pilot?

      UBS Wealth Managment Europe had to remediate an operational risk item due to the fact that they had back up

      situations in their 40 offices that were not compliant. NetbackUp 7.0 was chosen as the solution to deliver daily

      backups on disk and monthly ones on tape in one or two centralized locations for all offices. This pilot project was set

      up to proof that the product was fit for purpose. The scope of the pilot were the 5 offices in Italy.

       

      My contributions:

      • Managing the set up the infrastructure consisting of an Unix master cluster and Windows media servers
      • including the needed NAS and SAN storage. At the start of the operaional part of the pilot it turned out that
      • the product still had quite some child diseases to overcome and a task force together with the vendor
      • Symantec was set up to resolve the issues encountered. Eventually the pilot got completed successfully
