What I am working on right now

My current client is the state capital, Munich, for whom I am leading the transformation of the product and service development from a mix of waterfall and pseudo-scrum to a user-centered and product-oriented approach. Essentially, it's an org-change and DesignOps endeavour. I recently completed the UX maturity assessment (UX Maturity Score Cards & Nielsen) and are now defining strategic targets and OKRs to map them out with an opportunity solution tree. To avoid the SAFe pitfalls, I have created a customized design and build processes, including the implementation of UX governance and KPIs for measuring user-centricity, role descriptions, method cards, and  quality gates to secure delivery standards..


My last bank client

In 2022/23, I worked for Raiffeisen Bank on the product vision for the future of online banking at Raiffeisen Südtirol. With the support of two designers responsible for illustration and animation, I created a product vision in the form of a journey that outlines a potential feature set to bridge the gap between the product-market fit and the bank's vision. My role involved:
  • Plotting a narrative around the existing personas
  • Outlining 12 features to define the value proposition that sets Raiffeisen Südtirol apart from digital-only challenger banks
  • Design direction
  • Storytelling and copy-text (refined by someone who can write)
  • Alignment and buy-in with stakeholders
The Product Vision Journey laid the foundation for the bank's future and helped us pitch and sell the platform strategy to high-profile executives at the client. We then proceeded with the Product Interaction Vision. In workshops with the client, we defined the product interaction vision. This interaction vision incorporates the brand and bank values to support the product vision and outlines how it will feel to interact and communicate with customers online in the future.
My team then built two features before I moved to a new client. The notification center: We created a product feature that helped solve several pain points related to communication, information, and notification, which we discovered during our user research, at once.
The Recommendation Center: With the Recommendation Center, we have developed a product that lays the foundation for state-of-the-art and future online banking features. It is prepared for a banking ecosystem that analyzes customer data lakes, predicts customer behavior and financial situations, and recommends matching products and actions. The product's mechanism is seamlessly integrated into the platform and can be utilized on all touchpoints, including online banking, apps, websites, and webshops, without any media breaks. I developed the underlying concept years ago for ING Bank. (see below)


The biggest banks of all

Before moving to Vienna and starting at Accenture SONG, I lived and worked in New York. In New York, I worked with the no-code platform, Unqork, and built an enterprise-level, white-label design system for them. We used this design system for the product designs for some of the world's biggest banks, financial service providers, and insurance companies. (JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, BlackRock, StateStreet, Vanguard, MetLife, StateStreet, Marsh, ...)


The COVID-19 apps

Furthermore, based on this design system, I designed and built several COVID-19 services/apps for the Governments of New York City and Washington D.C., as well as the NGO RethinkFood, using the Unqork no-code platform.
One COVID-19 service helped deliver 125M meals and hygiene kits to people in danger and creating 25k new jobs. This app was featured in the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and Fast Forward Magazine.
Another COVID-19 app, for which I did the product design, was announced live on national TV by the Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio.
Other services included return to office dashboards for global enterprises and a 
vaccination allocation platform.


The biggest private customer bank in Europe

In Frankfurt, I worked for the largest private customer bank, ING Bank, on Future  Engagement concepts 'beyond banking in your pocket' and conversational UI, among  other things. I developed a product vision based on data analysis, prediction, and  recommendation for the next 2, 6, 10 years. Some of those ideas and assumptions are  now emerging in the fintech cosmos. Many of my ideas have not yet been realized, but  GenIA and improved ML are going to change this soon. Before this, I worked in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich for Deutsche Bahn, E-ON, Munich  Re, MisterSpex, AutoScout24, and many many other well-known brands. (see them listed  in my CV)
