Relaunch of the overview pages on sz.de
Rolle: UX / UI Design
Aufgaben:
This project, undertaken for Süddeutsche Zeitung,
was driven by a technical switch to a new system. The change was a
necessity and a chance for a comprehensive redesign of all overview
pages on both the website and the app.
Central to this redesign was the goal of significantly enhancing user
guidance. We aimed to provide a more structured experience, enabling
users to navigate with ease and precision through clearly
delineated content groups with varying hierarchies.
Additionally, the design prioritized flexibility for
editors to swiftly adapt to the fast-paced news environment, while
ensuring consistency for a cohesive and visually appealing
user experience.
Designing in an agile scrum team (engineers,
product owner, analyst, testing), Collaborating with many parts of
the company (app + cms development,
editors, designers)
From MVP to
better understanding the users in ?Meine SZ?
Rolle: UX / UI Design
Aufgaben:
In this
project, I spearheaded the creation of a personalized area akin to a
custom dashboard for SZ.de readers, later extending to the app.
It enabled
active personalization, allowing users to follow topics, columns, and
local reporting, and save articles. Emphasis was placed on optimizing
registration and onboarding, addressing the challenge of encouraging
user registration, with extensive research and iterative improvements
made for a seamless transition into the personalized SZ experience.
Additionally,
I standardized our AB-testing methods, enabling efficient evaluation
and iteration for a seamless transition into the personalized SZ
experience.
Designing in an agile scrum team, collaborating with external writing agency and illustrators
UI libraries and design systems for designers and engineers
Rolle: UI Design / Training
Aufgaben:
In this project, my role expanded from product designer for sz.de to a broader position within the design team.
Leveraging my experience with sz.de, Süddeutsche Zeitung's main digital product, I defined the majority of styles, patterns, and UI components implemented across all our products. I created a UI library from these elements and trained other designers to use it effectively.
Additionally, I collaborated with engineers to transfer the design system into code using Storybook, crucial for maintaining visual consistency across the company's product range.
