Architect and Implementation of a  leading edge new way to create online BVG offers and contracts for end customers. For the first time in the Insurance business  customers could online calculate BVG and create a contract immediately.

Usage of Azure functionality: Service Bus, SQL, Storage, WebApi.

The initial BVG offer system has been extended to provide a full contract system to take over all BVG contracts from legacy system.  

As architect I was responsible for all integration work for the new contract system and to provide a system which can handle the massive amount of data for all contracts in daily usage and on periodic peeks on  monthly/quarterly bases  and on year end executions.

As Project/Architecture lead I was responsible to design & implement a new BVG offer system for Swiss Life. The BVG offer system was the initial phase to replace the complete legacy BVG contract system.

The BVG offer system consisted of following parts:

• Web UI for field staff to make BVG offers 
• BVG offering allows to hide the complexity of products and give a simple product configurator 
• Integration of Web UI to 3rd party backend for calculation
• Complex Insurance underwriting routing with business acceptance of certain offers

For Asset Management an new platform has been evaluated which needs to integrate into the enterprise architecture and provides the business functionality for one of the biggest asset managers in Switzerland.

As part of the enterprise architecture all cross/horizontal applications where managed by our functional architecture group. As functional architect I was responsible to keep buy software and in-house built system conform to the enterprise architecture guidelines. By coordinating the functional architecture views with the enterprise architecture group we set the standards for all functional architects and coordinated with architecture groups from other countries.
